I was Dylan’s teacher in 2000 at Churchill Park
It is with great sadness that I learned today of the death of one of my all time favourite students (and I know I shouldn’t say that).
Dylan had the warmest and kindest eyes I have ever seen. He had a kind of ‘knowningness’ about him. I’m not a spiritual sort of person but I have to say he felt like an old spirit; I suppose he was more intuitive and sensitive perhaps, than some of the others.
Dylan’s quirky sense of humour was certainly present in abundance even at intermediate age. I smiled when I read Ashton Brown’s tribute because that sort of scenario – multiple questions with no expectation of an answer – was SO Dylan. You know what? I can visualise the scene with total certainty of the tone because the roots of Dylan’s humour were firmly in place even at twelve.
My sympathy goes out to his mum, dad and brother and also to all of his friends. It is a huge testament to his character than you have taken the time to create a website to remember him, Matt and I have to say that having missed the funeral, I can take solace in the fact I have been able to share a few memories.
My deepest sympathy,
Nicole Wallace
